It was established in the year 1972 and also known as Binkadakatti Zoo. Home to various types of species, Gadag Zoo also shelters rescued wild animals to be nurtured and rehabilitate. The Zoo is also a center for research studies on the habitats and other fields relating to wild animals. Overall, the Zoo summarizes a retreat to the wild animals in Nature.

In a tribute to the gifts of Mother Nature, the Biodiversity, the characters of lifeforms, the multitude of life is an undiminished wonder to our beings. By Air

The nearest airport to Gadag is the Hubli Airport which is 64 km away. The nearest airport to Gadag is the Sambra Airport in Belgaum, which is located at a distance of 128 km.

By Train

From Gadag Railway station once reached to bus stand there are plenty of buses from the local bus stand to the zoo.

By Road

The Mini Zoo at Binkadakatti, located in Gadag Taluk of Gadag District, was established in 1972. It covers an area of 16.01 hectares. The zoo is situated about 4 km from Gadag city and 1 km from Binkadakatti village. As per the classification of the Central Zoo Authority, it is categorized as a ‘Small Zoo’. Every year, more than 70,000 visitors visit this zoo.
